Graduation is quickly approaching, and I wanted to provide additional details regarding honor cords and National Honor Society (NHS) stoles for our seniors.
NHS Stoles
NHS stoles will be distributed at school to current senior members on Thursday, April 2. Please note that stoles may need to be ironed or prepared prior to the graduation ceremony.
Honor Cords
Honor cords will be distributed during graduation practice at the Cathedral on Thursday, May 7.
Eligibility & Costs
Academic honor cords are awarded based on cumulative GPA:
3.50β3.74: 1 cord
3.75β3.89: 2 cords
3.90β4.00: 3 cords
NHS stoles are $24.50, and honor cords are $12.00 each.
Students should request their current cumulative GPA from Mr. Hamilton to determine eligibility and total cost.
Payment Information
Payments (check payable to Sacred Heart High School) may be submitted to the main office anytime between now and graduation practice on May 7.
Returns & Refunds
If you do not wish to keep your cords and/or stole after graduation, they may be returned to the main office on or before Friday, May 15 for a full refund.
Important Note
Final academic honors are based on cumulative GPA after grades are finalized. As a result, a studentβs βhonoredβ status may be subject to change prior to graduation.
If you have any questions or need assistance, please feel free to contact me at 785-827-4422.
Thank you for your support as we celebrate our graduating seniors.
Mr. Hamilton

Tomorrow, April 1st, is the last day to order Track Team Shirts. Please place your order before the deadline.
NHS Scam Letter Alert
Sacred Heart has been made aware of scam letters that may have been sent to families regarding National Honor Society (NHS). These letters often offer to publish your childβs name in a book or βplace of honorβ for a fee, and may include links to purchase stoles or honor cords.
Please be aware that these are not affiliated with Sacred Heartβs NHS chapter. All official NHS communication for Sacred Heart comes directly from the school, specifically through Mr. Hamilton, NHS Sponsor. Sacred Heart will never request payment for NHS participation. Any organization claiming to represent NHS and asking for money is a strong indicator of a scam. Also, please note that only Sacred Heart-issued NHS cords and stoles are permitted to be worn at the graduation ceremony. Our NHS application process has already concluded, and eligible students were contacted directly by the school.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Mr. Hamilton, NHS Sponsor.

This Thursday, March 26, our 8th-grade students will have the opportunity to attend the Chrism Mass at Sacred Heart Cathedral. The Mass will begin at 11:30 a.m., and students will travel to and from the Cathedral with school supervision.
Following the Mass, students will go to Oakdale Park to enjoy a pizza luncheon together before returning to school. Pizza will be provided for all students. We expect to arrive back at school at approximately 2:30 p.m.
This is a meaningful experience for our students as they witness this special liturgy and spend time together in fellowship. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the school office.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
John Krajicek
