“It’s been such an incredible experience watching Tylar’s love for tennis grow into something so special,” her parents shared. “Her confidence, consistency, and respect for others have been inspiring. She’s proof that hard work and heart go hand in hand.” says her parents, Michelle and Dustin.
The family’s transition to Sacred Heart this year has deepened that growth in all the right ways. “From day one, the welcome and support we’ve felt here has been amazing. Faith is truly at the heart of the school,” they added. “We see it in how Tylar’s challenged to grow academically, athletically, and spiritually. It’s been such a blessing.”
That faith also fuels Tylar’s commitment — even with a daily drive from Abilene. “It’s absolutely worth it,” her parents said. “Seeing how happy, motivated, and grounded she’s become makes it all worthwhile.”
Her family describes her as coachable, humble, and fiercely determined. “Once she sets her mind to something, she gives it her all,” they said. “Tylar is always looking to improve — her positivity and love for the game stand out every day.”
Tylar’s own reflections show the same grace and grit. “My dad first introduced me to tennis, and I fell in love with the discipline and challenge of it,” she said. “Making it to state means so much — not just for me, but because I know how proud it makes my parents and coach.”
Balancing school, training, and a long commute hasn’t been easy, but Tylar embraces the challenge. “Some days are exhausting, but I remind myself why I started. Those hard days have made me stronger mentally and physically.”
Her experience at Sacred Heart has also strengthened her faith. “The support from teachers, coaches, and classmates pushes me to be my best. I’ve grown a lot in my faith here, and that gives everything I do deeper purpose.”
For younger athletes looking up to her, Tylar’s advice is simple but powerful: “Put in the work even when you don’t feel like it. Those are the days that define you. Consistency builds skill and character — people notice when you show up.”
