Junior High/High School Summer Cross Country Parent Meeting — Wednesday, May 6 at 5:30 PM in Room 134.
Good afternoon!
It has come to my attention today that a number for the junior high band students have sports activities this coming weekend. The final band concert of the year is scheduled for this coming Sunday, May 3, at 6:00 in the Sacred Heart gym. Students should be at the school by 5:30.
A number of students have told me that they have out of town sports activities which may interfere with their participation in the concert. Would you please take a minute to respond to me, directly and let me know if your son/daughter cannot make the concert? The kids have worked hard to get ready, it wold be ideal to have the entire group present.
My email is richard.koshgarian@salinacatholic.org. Again, please respond to me, not to Sarah Sanders (who forwarded this email to you).
Thanks for your response and help.

Grades 8-11! We are excited to share a great summer opportunity for you!
The Healthcare Youth Academy is returning this summer and offers a hands-on, interactive experience for students interested in exploring the field of healthcare. This program is open to current high school students as well as incoming freshmen and is a wonderful way to gain exposure to a variety of healthcare careers. In past sessions, students have had the opportunity to learn practical skills such as operating an ultrasound machine, performing strep tests, and practicing bleeding control techniques. Participants have also explored behind-the-scenes areas of the hospital, including Organizational Development, and experienced a simulated birthing demonstration.
June 22–26, 2026 from 3:00–4:30 PM at the SRHC hospital campus in Conference Room 7.
If your student is interested, please complete the form at the link below and return it as soon as possible. Be sure to print all information clearly when filling out the form!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
I am writing to share an important update regarding student cell phone use in our Catholic schools.
As you may be aware, the State of Kansas has enacted a new “bell-to-bell” law that will require schools to prohibit student use of personal electronic devices during the entire school day. In response, we are developing a diocesan approach that both meets this requirement and supports our mission of forming the whole person—spirit, mind, and body.
I invite you to read the full letter outlining these expectations and the vision behind them here: A New Chapter for Our Schools: "Bell-to-Bell" Cell Phone Expectations.
This change represents more than a policy shift. It is an opportunity—one that calls us, as schools and families, to work together in helping our young people develop healthy habits, deepen relationships, and grow in their faith.
As always, thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your shared commitment to forming disciples of Jesus on mission.
Gratefully,
Geoff Andrews
Superintendent of Catholic Schools
Diocese of Salina
